|When to drink|
This is one of the finest Syrahs I have tasted, and one of my favourite discoveries of 2017. The dark berry fruit has hints of violets and layers of flavour, whilst the tannins are firm but wonderfully ripe and velvety at the same time. Fresh yet powerful, a superb Cote Rotie which will accompany classic red meat dishes perfectly this Christmas!
“What should be another good value, the 2015 Côte Rôtie les Triotes comes from the La Triotes, Lancement, le Combard and le Mollard lieux-dits, and will see 18 months in 25% new oak. It’s a medium to full-bodied, supple, even sexy effort that offers a touch of violets, smoked meat, bourbon barrel and vanilla. It has sweet tannin and I suspect will drink nicely in its youth, yet also evolve for a decade or more.” The Wine Advocate
