Villa Maria’s “Earth Garden” Chardonnay was sustainably grown in their organic vineyards in Hawkes Bay. The wine was fermented in oak barrels using natural yeasts from the vineyard, then matured on its lees for a further 9 months to gain complexity and intensity of flavour.
This dry, medium bodied Chardonnay has flavours of stone fruits and gentle spice and vanilla from its ageing in oak. It is fresh, elegant and well balanced – an excellent value New Zealand Chardonnay.
