“Mixed ages from the 1960s through to 1996, and they have recently top grafted some of the younger vines. Picked a little later in the series. Since 2020 Jeremy has opted for less extraction having realised that Malconsorts will always stay firm. Just racked back to barrel after a very late malolactic. This is sensual, absolutely on the cusp of red and black fruit, with energy provided by the whole bunches to stop it becoming too rich. Drink from 2033-2042. Tasted Nov 2024.” 94-96pts Jasper Morris MW
“The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Aux Malconsorts 1er Cru is another cuvée that suffered some reduction during its élevage. Despite that, the nose still has a little more density and fruit concentration, with a hint of Japanese nori in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweeter entry than the Beaux Monts. Candied orange peel notes commingle with touches of red cherry and strawberry fruit. It’s a little spicy and strict on the finish. Excellent.” 94-96pts Neil Martin
