Domaine Marc Tempe Pinot Blanc Priegel Grand Cru – 2020

This exceptional Pinot Blanc comes from a very old vineyard planted in the early 196os on gravel soils. It was fermented and then matured in used Burgundy barrels for 3.5 years on its lees, which has given it wonderful depth and intensity of flavour.

Dry, with fresh acidity and beguiling aromas of white flowers, stone fruits and honeysuckle. This is one of the most impressive Pinot Blancs I have tasted from anywhere, absolutely delicious! 

Marc Tempé is the most unassuming, down to earth chap but his wines are out of this world! They are wines of amazing aromatic complexity and minerality which beautifully express their grape and terroir. Marc is surely one of the most talented winemakers in Alsace, so it is a huge shame that he has decided to sell his winery this year because his children do not want to move into the business.
