Our first exclusive event for Master’s Nose Club members, held on 13th November, turned out to be one of the most memorable champagne tastings I have ever enjoyed! Winemaker Cyrill Brun led us through this spectacular evening where we tasted Charles Heidsieck’s superb, newly-released Brut Vintage 2008 Champagne together with 3 of the different single vineyard reserve wines which went into its blend. We then compared the remarkably fresh Brut Vintage Champagne 1989 – direct from the winery’s chalk cellars – from bottle, magnum and jeroboam, and enjoyed the 40 year old Brut Vintage 1979, rich and biscuity but still drinking beautifully. Truly a wonderful experience, which all our guests seemed to enjoy!
