Master’s Nose Club members were treated to a fascinating tasting with Nigel Greening, owner of New Zealand’s fabulous Felton Road winery, and one of the most interesting raconteurs in the wine trade!

We compared Felton Road’s Bannockburn, Cornish Point and Block 3 Pinot Noirs from the recently-arrived 2020 vintage, whilst Nigel told us about the extreme difficulties the team faced when picking these wines at the start of Covid lockdown in March and April 2020.

It will shock you just how difficult life was for small, premium quality wineries in the early days of Covid!

Tasting take away

An online wine tasting may not be quite as good as “the real thing”, but it was honestly not far off! It is not often you get the opportunity to hear the views, stories and anecdotes of one of the world’s best producers whilst drinking great wines in your own living room!
