Tawse Cherry Avenue Pinot Noir Ontario – 2013
CHF 40.00
Situated on the lower slopes of the Niagara Escarpment, Tawse is a family-owned, organic and biodynamic winery which was for the 4th time voted Canada’s “winery of the year” in 2016. Owner Moray Tawse is a Burgundy fanatic (he is also co-owner of Domaine Marchand Tawse in Burgundy) who unites traditional “Burgundian” winemaking techniques with state of the art winemaking technology.
This is the domaine’s flagship pinot Noir. It has fine, firm tannins, red cherry fruit and nicely integrated oaky vanillins from its maturation over 16 months in 30% new French oak barrels. Still very young at the moment, it will be at its best from 2018.
