Dog Point Sauvignon Blanc is arguably New Zealand’s finest unoaked example of this grape each year. It combines pungent grapefruit and passion fruit flavours with purity, minerality and almost Sancerre-like restraint. As from this 2018 vintage it is now fully organic. Jancis Robinson MW is “a huge admirer” of this wine and describes the 2018 vintage as follows:- “Very racy, alluring, complex, nose with some struck-match character. Rather splits the difference between Marlborough and Sancerre. Creamy undertow with exciting top notes. Extraordinary tension on the palate. Dry but not drying finish. Long. Very accomplished and intense. Drink 2018-2022.” 17/20pts.
