Many of the wines in our range are produced organically or biodynamically. These wines are marked with a moon symbol (input symbol of moon here) to reflect biodynamicists’ belief in the influence of the moon over plant life.
Organic and biodynamic wines are produced without the use of chemicals or additives (except minimal amounts of vital copper in the vineyard and sulphur dioxide in the winery). Both types of certification take the wineries many years to achieve, and are extremely strict in their requirements. Growing grapes and making wine according to these principles requires complete dedication and a lot more effort and time in the vineyards than wines made using chemicals, herbicides or pesticides. So what are the benefits?
Question: What do the following famous wine producers have in common?
Domaine de la Romanée Conti, Domaine Leroy, Domaine Leflaive, Chateau Pontet Canet, Michel Chapoutier, Jean Louis Chave and Zind Humbrecht.
Answer: Yes, they are all French; yes; they are arguably the best quality producers in their respective regions at the moment; but most importantly, they are all certified biodynamic.
