Gusbourne Estate – the crème de la crème of English sparkling wines.

A unique and fascinating tasting which will investigate the quality potential of the best of English sparkling wines. We will be guided and inspired by Andrew Weeber, the charismatic owner of Gusbourne Estate in Kent, which has fast become one of England’s 2 best-respected sparkling wine producers.

Date: Wednesday 7th June 2017
Apero from 18.30-19.00.
Tasting will finish by 21.00 at latest.
Venue: Carlton Restaurants & Bar
Bahnhofstrasse 41
8001 Zürich
Cost: CHF90.–/person

Canapés will be served with the wines, but this is not a formal, sit down dinner.

Seats at this tasting are restricted to 15, so please book early to reserve your place!

This tasting will include:

  1. A “vertical” of several vintages of Gusbourne’s prestige Blanc De Blancs, going back to 2006, their first vintage.
  2. Gusbourne Estate Brut Reserve from 2 older vintages. From each vintage we will compare one example which has been given extended ageing on its lees with another which was disgorged younger, but then aged longer in bottle. How important are lees- and bottle-ageing in English sparkling wines?
  3. 2 vintages of Taittinger Comte de Champagne – THE Champagne above all others which Gusbourne aim to match in quality!
