“The 2017 Morgon Corcelette derives from the sandier soils that typically characterize this lieu-dit, and it’s a new cuvée for Desvignes, produced from purchased grapes. Exhibiting notes of plums, red cherries and potpourri, the wine is medium to full-bodied, bright and tangy, with a juicy core of fruit and fine tannins that will be utterly silky after a few years’ bottle age.” 92/100 pts The Wine Advocate

This Morgon comes from 65 year old vines grown in the schistous/volcanic-soiled Cote du Puy subzone. It is extremely pure and intense with lovely depth and density of vibrant raspberry and red berry fruits. It is very young and needs a little time to open up but the fruit is delicious!
“Unfurling in the glass with notes of black cherries, mulberries, cracked black pepper and dark chocolate, the 2017 Morgon Côte du Puy is a deep, brooding, medium to full-bodied wine with considerable power and firm but fine-grained extract. Concentrated and structured, it will reward patience.” 93/100pts The Wine Advocate
“The superb 2017 Morgon Côte du Py Javernières wafts from the glass with a kaleidoscopic bouquet of black cherries, wild blueberries, licorice and dried rose petals. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, with striking concentration and depth, structured around finer, more elegant tannins than the regular Côte du Py bottling. The finish is incredibly long.” 95/100pts The Wine Advocate
“Notes of violets, crushed cassis, orange rind and blueberries introduce the 2017 Morgon Côte du Py Les Impénitents, a special cuvée derived from three parcels within Javernières that were planted between 1912 and 1914. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, ample and multidimensional, with incredible concentration and energy, displaying stunning concentration and length. This is an immensely good young Morgon.” 96/100pts The Wine Advocate
